Qualified candidates will have anywhere between 1-5 years of experience in comprehensive RF systems engineering within the aerospace & defense industry, excellent project execution skills, and a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant engineering or techical discipline. This role requires strong communication & collaboration abilities with both internal and external clients, and roughly 25% travel. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate as an integral member of the Datalink Engineering team, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) SATCOM datalink and Line-Of-Sight (LOS) datalink solutions tailored for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the organization, providing expertise and guidance for company-wide RF and satellite communications initiatives.
- Assume a pivotal role in technical leadership for external clients, ensuring seamless execution of projects.
- Oversee sub-contractor relationships, managing technical aspects to ensure the fulfillment of all technical requirements.
- Conduct RF communications systems integration and testing involving aircraft, satellite earth stations, and ground control stations (GCS) at our flight test and operations facility located in the greater Los Angeles area, with occasional travel (25%).
- Provide vital support for System Integration Lab (SIL) integration activities, ground and flight testing of satellite terminals, and diverse aircraft components, including modems, Vortex, IFF, TCAS, and Radios.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop test plans, procedures, and reports, and actively engage with other divisions within the organization, potentially taking a lead role in datalink flight testing.
- Work closely within a team of RF Datalink Engineers to drive the datalink roadmap and manage multiple datalink projects. Coordinate segments of these projects, often requiring frequent communication with other teams and customers to address complex technical challenges.
- Facilitate effective communication with customers, ensuring their requirements are clearly understood and then translated into actionable directives for various engineering groups.
- Engage with aircraft component vendors, conducting in-depth analyses and comparisons of available capabilities against customer requirements. Document your findings and communicate the results to the engineering team.
- Deliver technical presentations to both customers and senior management when necessary, effectively conveying complex information and insights.
