Sr. Software Engineer

Required:

-BS in engineering, mathematics, computer science, software development or other technical field, or relevant experience

-Ability to work with members of a team in different disciplines

-Ability to proactively ask questions, and seek answers

-Ability to work with remote staff

-Willingness to be flexible in technologies and flexible in team assignments

-Excellent coding skills in an object-oriented language

-Experience with event driven and RESTful microservice architectures

-Experience with relation databases like Postgres and MySQL

-Experience working in the Agile Development Framework

Preferred:

-Advanced degrees

-strong java and/or python experience

-CI/CD experience

-AWS experience

responsibilities:
-Work within a delivery team to ensure Product Stories acceptance criteria is met by writing application code and tests, using java, groovy, and python.

--Participates in daily scrum meetings

--Participates in refinement, to help clarify strategies

--Participates in team retrospective reviews to continually improve team performance

-Collaborates on code reviews, helping to improve our codebase and reduce tech debt

-Develop and enhance microservices to perform at scale

-Continually strive to improve SDLC, code, CI/CD, and engineering best practices

-Partners with the product team and other tech leaders to design, refine, and execute on the Surest roadmap

-Be a mentor to junior engineers to promote quality software engineering standards
