Position: Human Resources

& Payroll Administrator Reports To President/General

Manager

Position Summary:

Manages the recruitment and onboarding process

for new hires from both companies.

Manages and oversees all aspects of both companies’ biweekly payrolls. Processes and updates

employee benefit programs. Develops and maintains employee personnel files,

employee handbooks, safety manuals/programs, and onboarding paperwork, and

responsible for updating Company policies and procedures as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists and coordinates recruitment process (i.e., places job announcements, schedules interviews,

checks references).

Oversees the onboarding of new hires by processing initial paperwork and inputting

information into the HRIS.

Supports managers and supervisors with employee relations

concerns.

Reviews disciplinary actions

and provides feedback

to managers and supervisors.

Responsible for maintaining a knowledge base of current regulatory and employment laws.

Processes new hire and open enrollment benefits

and 401K. Reconciles monthly invoices for

health benefits due to enrollment changes and maintains a database of employee benefits.

Responsible for bi-weekly payroll for over 125

employees which involves reviewing daily timesheets, processing pay increases, and bonuses/commissions, making corrections as needed, and processing wage

garnishments and paper checks.

Oversees the offboarding of employees by

ensuring proper payment of final wages and forms and documents are received by

the existing employee.

Responsible for ensuring

all leave of absence paperwork (e.g., FMLA/CFRA/PDL) is sent

to employees needing a leave of absence in a timely manner.

Uses Company software

system proficiently and assists others as needed.

Assists with administrative duties; including

but not limited to answering phones, filing, scanning documents, updating

employee phone and email lists, entering data into HRIS as needed, and other

tasks upon request.

Ensures work is completed with a high level of

accuracy while being mindful of product pricing.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, and Characteristics

 

Bachelor or Associates degree, equivalent experience with at least 3 years of

experience in Human Resources, Accounting, or Payroll.

Ability to accurately maintain and keep current data in the HRIS system.

Must be familiar

with state and federal employment laws.

Must have an exceptional understanding of Microsoft

Office Suite, HRIS software, and other

computer programs.

Must have an extensive understanding of accounting and payroll to perform audits of bi-weekly payroll.

Must have excellent

written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to exercise

sound judgment and problem-solving skills

and develop effective

proactive solutions.

Must be able to exercise

discretion and compassion in all employee

related situations.

Must have a basic understanding of health benefit

administration, workers’ compensation, and other benefit programs.

Must be able to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Must be able to multitask

and complete work in a timely, organized

manner.

Must be able to work independently.

Must be able to interact

positively with clients,

staff and other third parties.

Must be able to maintain

regular and consistent punctuality and attendance.

Essential Physical Functions:

Ability to sit, see, hear, and speak for extended

periods of time.

Ability to stand,

squat, crouch, and lift arms above head.

Ability to sit, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours per day.

a computer constantly throughout a workday.
