JOB TITLE: PA - Physicist - Rad Onc - Days
DURATION: 4-Week Contract
LOCATION: State College, PA 16801
SHIFT: Day Shift; 8 hr; 40/week

Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics through either the American Board of Medical Physics or the American Board of Radiology, experienced in a hospital based or free standing Radiation Oncology Center
1) Performs calibrations of the HDR afterloader.
a) Records findings.
b) Reports any malfunctions to authorized service provider, as indicated.
c) Documents corrective action.
2) Performs other calibrations of radiation producing equipment as necessary.
3) Assists the physician in performing HDR procedures, including operation of the equipment and performing Radiation Safety Surveys associated with the treatment.
4) Responsible for determining the fitness of the radiation producing equipment.
5) Performs quality assurance of the accelerator, HDR afterloader and simulator in accordance with the Radiation Oncology Department procedures.
6) Performs wipe tests and inventories of brachytherapy sources as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and in accordance with the Radiation Oncology Department procedures.
7) Performs weekly physics check on patient charts in accordance with Radiation Oncology Department procedures.
8) Performs physics consultations pertaining to patient treatments as requested by the Radiation Oncologist.
9) Performs patient dosimetry.
10) Assists the Radiation Safety Officer in maintaining Departmental, NRC and State regulatory compliance.
a) Maintains and updates all policies and procedures for HDR in conjunction with NRC regulations.
11) Maintains required records, reports and statistics.
12) Provides guidance on dosimetry to Radiation Therapists and Dosimetrist.
13) Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $150.00 - $190.00 per hour
