Rantec is located in Los Osos, California is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary

The IPTL will manage all aspects of Product Delivery for given business segment.  This leadership role is focused on product delivery to the customer by means of the Integrated Product Team (IPT).  Key focus is product On Time Delivery and effective management of discrepant material.  This leadership role will focus the IPT on continuous improvement projects to a zero-defect mindset.

Business segment management includes OTD execution, macro resource planning, capacity analysis, and budget performance.  Integrate new product introduction within existing production resources.  Provide leadership and mentoring to subordinates and develop personnel growth plans.  Partner with the engineering project manager and the account manager to fully encompass all aspects of each program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and remove roadblocks that affect product delivery.
  • Identify and track Integrated Product Team continuous improvement solutions which create a zero-defect mindset. Identify waste and discrepant material by means of Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Direct IPT Co-Report tasks and provide direct feedback.
  • Focus on the Integrated Product Team of people working on the right task at the right time.
  • Direct activities and make decisions within the confines of established quality system.
  • Verify manufacturing capacity supports customer demand planning.
  • Develop Manufacturing/Production Readiness Reviews for target programs.
  • Provide input during Product Design phase for lowest cost manufacturing model.
  • Manage activities within defined budget goals.
  • Identify technology improvements for increased manufacturing throughput and efficiency.

Education and Experience

  • BS degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of Supervision, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing/Operations experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound reasoning skills (critical thinking) in risk assessment.
  • Strong leadership capability; Ability to influence teams with out having direct positional authority.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Access, and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees as well as outside sources.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.

Salary : $96,000 - $125,000
