LOA Specialist Needed!
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Assist in the collection, management and documentation of data for HR functional areas.
2. Coordinate employees going on Leave of Absence in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state employment laws (HIPAA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
3. Enter and update leaves of absence in the HRIS database and spreadsheets.
4. Maintain appropriate contact with all employees on leave to coordinate their return to work including: contacting employees, drafting letters, mailing certified letters, and following up with employees as needed.
5. Keep department managers updated on employees’ LOA status.
6. Research, respond, and document frequently asked leave of absence questions and inquiries. Provide effective guidance to management and employees in response to questions regarding the leave of absence and workplace accommodations, policies and procedures.
7. Identify leave of absence issues, trends, and advise the HR Benefits Manager of problem areas.
8. Assist with coordinating workplace accommodations to include: educating employees of applicable options; providing the employee with the requisite forms; maintaining contact with the employee to try to ensure documentation is received; analyzing submitted documentation; Partner with departments to ensure technology and equipment workplace accommodations are timely delivered after approval.
9. Coordinate necessary efforts with management, training and other stakeholders to ensure employees returning from a leave of absence are positioned for a successful resumption of work.
10. Assist with the revision, review, and electronic document management of Personnel Policies and Procedures.
11. Assist with coordinating employee benefits as needed.
Job Requirements
BA/BS degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent amount of education/experience.
Three years of relevant administrative/support experience and Leave of Absence Coordination.
Certifications/Licenses Preferred: SHRM, PHR or SPHR
Knowledge of Federal State applicable laws dealing with FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, CFRA, and USERRA.
Knowledge of benefits administration, ACA compliance, and other HR related practices.
Proficient in preparing reports related to benefit enrollment and benefits changes.
Knowledgeable of HRIS programs.

Salary: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
