What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agile Coach position at Raval West?
We are looking for an experienced Agile Coach who can coordinate, train and coach our teams. Conduct workshops and facilitate session for agile process and practices. Coach organization as whole and team by team. Mentor and guide stakeholders, scrum masters, product teams and development teams.
Location:
The role is mostly remote. Sacramento or nearby location is required for frequent on-site visits.
Responsibilities and Skills:
- Profound knowledge of various Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum and Kanban is essential
- Coaching and Training: Ability to coach teams and individuals, from executives to development teams on Agile principles and practices. Ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions tailored to the audience’s needs and learning styles.
- Mentoring Capabilities: Ability to mentor roles like Scrum Masters and Product Owners, providing guidance and support to strengthen their capabilities.
- Strategic Planning: Skills in strategic planning for Agile transformations, including setting vision, objectives, and measurable outcomes.
- Resistance Management: Ability to manage resistance to change by understanding its sources and addressing concerns effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proficiency in engaging stakeholders and building alliances to support the Agile transformation journey.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate Agile concepts clearly and persuade stakeholders.
- Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated leadership skills to guide teams and the organization through the transformation process with confidence and authority.
- Conflict Resolution: Ability to identify, mediate, and resolve conflicts within teams and between stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Capability to adapt coaching and transformation strategies to meet the evolving needs of the organization and external factors.
- Feedback Mechanisms: Establishing and utilizing feedback loops to promote continuous improvement in Agile practices.
- Metrics and Measurement: Proficiency in defining and using metrics to guide development processes and measure progress effectively.
Requirements:
- Certifications: Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe Program Consultant, Certified Agile Coach).
- Experience in Government Projects. Prior experience in government projects can be invaluable due to the unique challenges and stringent requirements typical in this sector. Familiarity with the specific regulations and compliance issues that impact project management in the governmental context.
- Technical Insight: Understanding of Technical Practices: Having a basic understanding of software development practices, DevOps, and CI/CD
- Expertise in using Jira in Agile Scrum/Kanban.
