In support of the US Army’s Comply to Connect initiative, the Sr. System Engineer will provide expert level support for the deployment of virtual routing and forwarding (VFR) in all posts, camps, and stations in CONUS. This candidate will bring their expert level of understanding of servers, storage, virtualization, security and Comply to Connect capabilities to provide guidance and leadership to the entire VRF and Comply to Connect/Forescout effort for the Army. This is a leadership role, and you will work with Government, Military, and other contractors to Engineer, Install, Test and Secure the entire technical solution.  The ideal candidate will be proactive and will champion the project for the customer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Standard requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of Systems Engineering experience 
• Active Secret clearance or higher
• Documentation, installation and configuration of DoD and Federal Systems
• System patching to include the implementation of DoD STIGs, NIST 800-53 and CIS hardening standards
• Create and document Enterprise and site architecture, design, processes and run books 
• Monitor overall system health and troubleshoots reported events 
• Develop and implement testing strategies and document results 
• Ability to write and update technical documents, procedures, TTP, SOPs, etc. 
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs or NIST 800-53 or CIS hardening standards 
• Experience with multi-tiered applications utilizing web front ends, database and middleware servers 
• Experience with assessing complete IT inventories and utilization and developing plans for consolidation and optimization
• Experience with IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, storage, compute and virtualization knowledge 
• Experience with the asset and configuration management  

Task-specific requirements:

• Gather required system data from Joint Management Network access. This includes the VRFs, Multiple Spanning Tree (MST)s, Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN), Firewall Rules, assigned and available IP space, and other items as necessary to meet the Request for Change (RFC). 
• Develop a list of Pre-Assured Services Interruption (ASI) steps, ASI preparation tasks, and ASI steps/procedures. 
• Develop Pass/Fail criteria and a rollback plan. 
• Create and submit all Port, Protocols and Service Management (PPSM) documentation via established Change Management processes. 
• Expert with SSL certificate process and implementation

Certifications:

• Advanced level certification in one or more of the following: Virtualization, Data Storage, Networking, Security
• Security or equivalent
• Cisco, Microsoft or RedHat certification(s) are a plus

Education:

BA or relevant experience in lieu of.

Working Conditions:

Business work hours are from Monday through Friday, (day shift) 40-hour week. This position is 100% remote.

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
