OIL & TIRE TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities
o Performs multipoint inspection
o Advises service consultant of additional work
o Service grease fittings, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand or compressed air powered grease gun
o Inspect fluid levels of steering gear, power steering, transmission, differential, rear axle housings, and shackles
o Check air pressure of tires, repair, replace, mount and balance tires
o Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants
o Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil
o Add water to radiator and battery
o Replace oil and air filters
o Mount and balance tires
o Inspect all vehicles for additional repairs needed
o Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
o Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt and harsh chemicals
o Other work as directed by supervision and/or management
Required Experience
Qualifications:
o Must meet company's requirements for employment
o Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
o Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
o Must have a valid driver's license
o Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
o Prior experience as a technicians helper or apprentice
o Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
o Exposure to inclement weather
o Ability to operate an automobile
o Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending
o Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater then 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
o Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and /or pulling of materials
Summary
The Lube and Tire Technician position requires a skilled individual with core competencies in automotive knowledge, hand tools, vehicle maintenance, oil changes, tire service, power tools, and general automotive service. Premium skills such as dealership experience and automotive repair expertise are highly valued. Relevant skills include service technician experience, customer service orientation, ability to handle heavy lifting, and maintenance capabilities. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, hold a valid driver's license, and be familiar with manual transmission vehicles.

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
