The Analyst role within Market Data Services is responsible for the many administrative aspects of the Market Data environment.
The role requires close interaction with all Raymond James business units and teams providing support, advice, and guidance pertaining to Market Data products and services. You will participate in and assist with strategic and business driven initiatives to help drive efficiencies and optimize the usage of related services, and ensure processes are correctly used and enhanced as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with inventory management, general administration and reporting activities, process management and data analysis.
- Help reconcile and ensure Market Data invoices are ready for allocation and payment
- Manage Market Data user and application inventory through FITS tool, including maintenance & upkeep of FITS. Knowledge of FITS or an equivalent tool is highly preferred.
- Manage user statistics and usage analysis, vendor & exchange reporting requirements
- Utilize relevant tools (e.g. Tableau) & capabilities to provide reports as required per business and/or management requirements
- Build and maintain strong relations with Market Data providers, exchanges, and business partners, and develop an understanding of services and capabilities offered in order to gauge optimal use of data and products
- Act as an escalation point for related administrative activities (e.g. subscription queries)
- Understand, interpret and define business partner requirements pertaining to Market Data in order to provide suitable advice and guidance
- Assist with project functions during rollouts, upgrades, acquisitions etc
- Effectively interact with stakeholders, operations and technology teams
- Manage, support, monitor, implement and maintain the day to day processes for the request of any new or existing Market Data services and applications
- Maintain a view on current costs by reviewing usage and demand in order to be able to position contract discussions appropriately
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms of agreements being utilized by Lines of Business and other teams
- Assist with the delivery and implementation of solutions alongside business and technology teams
- Monitor & participate in Market Data activities to maintain knowledge of the industry
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

- Experience working with Market Data Vendors such as Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, ICE, FactSet etc. in addition to other Index or Ratings providers
- Experience with market data licensing and vendor negotiations
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret Market data agreements, contractual terms, data usage and distribution rights
- Experience using FITS or a similar service is preferable
- Exceptional customer and business support and communication skills for the day-to-day support of Market Data services

- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent Communication and Relationship Management skills, ability to effectively communicate at all business levels
- Proficient in data analysis using the Microsoft Office suite
- Proficient in requirements gathering, business analysis and solution definition
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, responsive and able to adapt to a changing environment
- Some project management experience
Ability to
- Leverage industry-wide best practices and emerging technologies/solutions to continuously enhance market data solutions
- Provide effective governance for Market Data requests and usage across the firm. Develop, manage, communicate and enforce policies and controls that ensure effective consumption and overall compliance with Market Data vendor agreements
- Ability to work in deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
Education/Previous Experience:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree; 0-2 years of relevant experience. May have one or more technical or business-related certifications.
