Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

Our Advanced Electro-Optical (AEO) Engineering team has an immediate leadership opportunity for an experienced Senior E/O Systems Engineer / Section Manager with expertise in airborne electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systems. Typical duties include requirements management, EO performance analysis, performing systems integration, conducting verification and validation testing and conducting flight testing. The Section Manger will be responsible for performing direct line manager activities for 10-20 system engineers. Activities include hiring, training coordination, performance management, career development, and resource management. The Section Manager will also contribute to technical and cost proposals in support of our growth initiatives in advanced electro-optical sensing systems

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

Candidate must have an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Candidate must be able to work in tight spaces such as technical laboratories, aircraft, ground military equipment, and naval vessels

Required Skills:

Minimum of 10 years of related systems engineering and/or integration and test experience including a strong background with optical signal processing in an EO Systems product life cycle environment - including systems design / build / test / verification down to sub-systems level.

Hardware hands-on experience.

Experience with infrared imaging technologies and/or laser imaging technologies.

Experience with DOORs, SysML, Matlab, MathCAD, ModelSim, or other computer aided engineering tools.

Requires prior leadership experience and strong written and oral communication skills - including presentation preparation and delivery - and demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills .

Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization.

An active and in-scope DOD Secret US security clearance is required.

Desired Skills:

Domain knowledge in active, passive EO/IR Sensors including LADAR, Lidar, and other similar remote sensing instruments.

Strong track record of performing tasks independently and within schedule and budget-

Technical publications or patents in the areas listed above

Experience performing functional management activities including staffing, conducting performance reviews and career discussions, participating in compensation discussions, and flowing communications/information from higher levels down to section members.

Experience in the area of optical sensors, signal processing, tracking, detection, calibration, and radiometric modeling

Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certification

Basis of Estimate Writer and Approver Certification

Knowledge in estimation theory and numerical methods along with some practical experience in these areas

Technical experience in opto-mechanical engineering, control systems, embedded computing, data science, or electronics

Required Education:

Typically requires a Degree in a related STEM discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Math, System Engineering; an advanced STEM degree is preferred but not required.

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
