Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, and Maintainable and delivered on time. WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability, System Safety and Supportability.

Job Summary:
As a WLE Cross Product Team Lead you’re responsible for successful technical, schedule, and cost performance for Specialty Engineering and Life Cycle Sustainment functional work scope throughout the life of the assigned program.

In this role, you’ll provide oversight over cross functional activities including:
  • Design/Development/Production
  • Specialty/Supportability engineering
  • Fielding/Sustainment phase technical assistance
  • Depot test equipment development and production
  • Customer technical manuals
  • Training
  • Supply support
  • Hardware refurbishment/upgrade.
You’re also the principal point of contact for communication with Product Line/Program Management regarding program scope and ensuring standard process utilization & compliance. In addition, you’ll support business growth by developing innovative life cycle sustainment solutions.

This position will work closely with the Product Line, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams to apply disciplined engineering and program management processes to establish and monitor metrics and ensure excellence in execution.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Development of Proposals to help grow Raytheon business;
  • Interfacing with Customers and Program Office to define & flow down (as required) WLE requirements;
  • Development of Performance measurement baseline, system maintenance concept definition, coordination of material fielding & training plans, and system support package planning (TMs, training materials, etc.);
  • Ensuring alignment, integration and open/frequent communication among Integrated Product Teams (IPTs);
  • Submitting and Managing of WLE Risks and Opportunities (R&Os) with the applicable R&O board;
  • Achieving technical, cost, and schedule objectives through collaboration and monitoring of WLE work scope utilizing standard program management tools (Earned Value Management (EVM), Integrated Master Schedule, Functional metrics, etc.).
  • Compile & present WLE status at Integrated Product Team (IPT), Program, Customer Program Management Reviews (PMR) including technical, schedule, cost status and root cause/corrective action

Domestic travel of 10 – 20% per year with international travel to a lesser extent.

This position can be a Salary Grade P3 or a Salary Grade P4 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

For a Grade P3, an advanced degree in a related filed and a minimum 3 years’ experience may be considered for this role. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this role.

For a Grade P4, an advanced degree in a related filed and a minimum 5 years’ experience may be considered for this role.



Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Chemistry
Employment Experience:
  • 5 years’ experience with Engineering, Integrated Product Team, Cross Product Team, Supply Chain, Program or Project Management
  • Program or Project Management experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with IPDS, EVMS, IMS and Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Experience in program planning, budgeting, and tracking to cost and schedule
  • Experience in leading a cross functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Six Sigma Specialist; EVMS certified;
  • Experience with the Patriot system Hardware
  • PMX certified; Capture management / new business development experience
  • Subcontract Management, Program Management or Integrated Product Team experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
  • Experience managing through organizational change and rapid growth
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and collaboration
  • Experience in management of International programs
