Who we are
Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp, has an opening for a Contracts Manager supporting a variety of business focus areas, including the Analytics & Machine Intelligence and the Intelligent Software & Systems groups.  The position is a key member of the business formation and business management teams within BBN.  BBN has a long history of science and technological innovation that dates back to its founding in 1948.  
 
What will you do
In this role, the individual will be responsible for participation in the requirements analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Broad Agency Announcements, proposal strategy reviews and coordination, contract negotiation, contract administration, non-disclosure agreements, software license agreements, and other business agreements and contracts with the U.S. Government, commercial, and academic clients. 

 

The position offers broad exposure to a multitude of procurement types (CPFF, T&M, FFP), other transactions, and grant vehicles.  The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is BBN’s largest customer along with members of the Intelligence Community. 

 

Responsibilities will include working as a collaborative team member with Program Managers, Principal Investigators and Scientists, Finance, Global Trade, Supply Chain and Legal to: construct and submit technical and cost proposals to win new business; negotiate terms and conditions negotiate cost and price; and, to manage contracts after award.   The Contracts Manager will be an integral part of the business team and will attend Proposal and Program Reviews, providing advice, insight, recommendations, and support to senior management regarding contractual and business issues, ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies, and guiding management on contractual rights and obligations and mitigation of contractual/program risks.

What you need

·     BA/BS in Business or related field and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience

·     Willingness to apply for and be granted a DoD security clearance

·     A proven track record of success in contracting with an intimate understanding of terms and conditions, including analytical skill to assess the implications and the language skill to draft modifications to ensure equity in the transaction

·     Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements as well as the ability to contribute to negotiation strategies

·     Effective communicator both orally and in writing with strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills

·     Ability to lead and work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust

·     Capable of multi-tasking and handling several assignments

·     Excellent time management and organizational skills

·     Focus on responsiveness with strong time management and organizational skills

·     Knowledge FAR, DFARS, and ITAR

·     Position may require some amount of overnight travel

 

Additional skills that would be awesome

·     Advanced degrees, JD/MBS, are a plus

·     Eight or more years of experience in contract administration

·     Computer proficiency, experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared databases

·     Active DoD Secret clearance

·     Personnel Management experience of a small team

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
