What is the opportunity?
The Communications Advisor for our U.S. Capital Markets business will serve as a generalist for the U.S. Communications team and provide support for the business where needed, covering, but not limited to, U.S. Functions, U.S. Investment Banking, RBC Clear, and U.S. Global Markets, including Research. They will enhance and protect the reputation of RBC Capital Markets in the U.S. with key internal and external stakeholders through innovative and differentiated communications, employee engagement activities, and by leveraging digital platforms.
The Advisor role will provide thoughtful and strategic communications support to our U.S. Functional leaders, Employee Resource Groups, as well as other local U.S. businesses.

What is the opportunity?
The Communications Advisor for our U.S. Capital Markets business will serve as a generalist for the U.S. Communications team and provide support for the business where needed, covering, but not limited to, U.S. Functions, U.S. Investment Banking, RBC Clear, and U.S. Global Markets, including Research. They will enhance and protect the reputation of RBC Capital Markets in the U.S. with key internal and external stakeholders through innovative and differentiated communications, employee engagement activities, and by leveraging digital platforms.
The Advisor role will provide thoughtful and strategic communications support to our U.S. Functional leaders, Employee Resource Groups, as well as other local U.S. businesses.
What will you do?
- Provide day-to-day communications support to D&I, corporate citizenship, philanthropy, and sponsorship initiatives as well as HR and other support functions in the U.S.
- Develop and regularly contribute interesting and engaging content for RBC Capital Markets’ intranet.
- Support U.S. town halls and employee engagement events.
- Develop, track, and present key KPIs and metrics across internal and external channels.
- Partner closely with internal colleagues and PR agency to help support our U.S. media strategy and grow RBC’s brand in the U.S.
- Support RBC’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, by liaising and coordinating with RBC’s employee resource groups.
- Work closely with colleagues in Toronto, London, and other locations to ensure seamless and consistent communications.
- Contribute to the success of the overall goals of the Brand, Communications and Citizenship group.
Must-have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years of relevant corporate communications experience, PR firm or financial services/professional services firm
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration abilities.
- Strong knowledge of communication and social media principles and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and relationship builder.
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented with strong project time management capabilities.
- Design experience preferred.
- Ideal candidate would have a basic knowledge of Canva and Poppulo, or equivalent email template tool/graphic design tools.
