What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Control Supervisor position at RBC?
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Maintains correctly balanced inventory levels on all purchased material and supplies to prevent out of stock conditions and cash flow problems relating to inventory.
- Forecasts level of monthly shipments, finish and Past Due.
- Generates plan to achieve budgeted ship and finish goals. Runs meetings, etc. to accomplish this.
- Guarantees a continuous inventory supply, establish and maintains proper levels of inventory turns, and controls the level of backorders.
- Forecasts inventory levels to anticipate inventory levels and cash flow needs.
- Works closely with Marketing and Sales to properly forecast new product timelines and sales.
- Develop and provide leadership to the Planning personnel in effectively utilizing MRP, MPS and availability in the supply chain.
- Assist Purchasing personnel in enhancing their negotiating skills with the objective of continuous improvement in product cost, quality and delivery, and in developing long term supplier relationships and capabilities.
- Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, outside services, as well as coordinating global procurement efforts.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the solutions to problems potentially affecting the flow of material and support of customers.
- Coordinates with accounting on matters involving inventory, costs and quantities.
- Play major role in the enhancement of improved communication and smooth interface between departments and individuals regarding plans, programs or problems.
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
