We are seeking someone detail-oriented, personable, and hardworking to fill an Assistant Property Manager position in our Somerville, Massachusetts office. The candidate will gain valuable property management experience and learn about the local rental market. As such, knowledge of the local real estate market or understanding of building systems or maintenance is a plus though not a requirement.
The candidate must meet the following criteria:
· Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferably in real estate, property management, or hospitality management
· Must have reliable transportation with the ability to drive in New England winter conditions
· Must be able to work some weekends during the spring and summer
· Must be available on and around September 1st each year
· Must be available to participate in RCG’s afterhours emergency on-call rotation
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills – a writing sample will be required
· Must have experience or training using MS Office
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Supporting the Property Management Team in all aspects of property and project management
· Providing excellent service to our tenants and owners
· Scheduling and showing apartments to prospective tenants and coordinating apartment showings with third party real estate brokers
· Inspecting buildings and apartments, coordinating repairs, managing apartment turnovers
· Coding and approving property expenses
· Collecting rents, coordinating evictions, small claims, and other legal matters
· Providing administrative support to a variety of personnel and projects
Working knowledge of the Yardi or AppFolio property management systems, experience coordinating repairs, knowledge of building systems, having a pick-up truck or SUV, and generally being handy is a plus.
This is a full-time salary position. The candidate is expected to work 9am-6pm during the week (weekend hours vary but tend to be shorter) or until job responsibilities are completed. We are offering a starting annual salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience. We pay an additional $45/month for smartphone reimbursement (assuming the applicant receives emails, calls, texts on a personal cell phone) and offer partial mileage reimbursement (does not include commuting mileage). We also contribute towards health insurance if acquired through the company. New employees are given 22 paid days off each year (which includes company holidays – of which there are 7.5 in 2021).
