RCI Systems is a full-service fire protection company located in Tempe, Arizona. RCI provides fire sprinkler design, installation, and service to our customers and we are currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Trainee/Helper to join our team!
This is an entry level position that will provide the opportunity to learn the fire sprinkler industry through studies and on-the-job training. It is a requirement that you can handle physically demanding work and the ability to work well with others. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the necessary characteristics, aptitude, motivation, and personality traits conducive to success in our trade.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform fire alarm / fire sprinkler system repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and replace defective parts.
- Perform programming on fire alarm systems.
- Use device manuals to repair non-functioning fire alarms and restore fire alarms to original functionality.
- Ensure compliance to electrical and fire codes.
- Educate Client’s on preventative care and regular maintenance to prevent system malfunctions.
- Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.
- Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed.
- Stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift equipment up to 80 pounds.
- Construction background is a plus but not required.
- Punctual
- Ability to work in all conditions (Hot/Cold/Humid weather, Small/Cramped Quarters, etc.)
- Climb Ladders & Work on a Lift
- Work Under Supervision
- Mechanically Inclined
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment
- Attention to Detail
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Able to background and drug test.
- Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs
- Able to work in or on ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
