Position Summary:
Plans and designs manufacturing processes for the facility. Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes. Determines the parts, equipment and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. May conduct or direct time and cost analysis of processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement capital project initiatives with mechanical design and AutoCAD drafting support.
- Support daily operational needs with equipment modifications and additions.
- Design and assist with fabrication and installation of equipment parts and pieces to increase overall plant efficiency.
- Design equipment.
- Support maintenance department when emergency breakdowns occur by providing guidance on repairs of equipment.
- Responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of all buildings and systems. Manage vendors and contractors and assign other facility maintenance tasks using the work order system.
- Assist with the design and upkeep of plant wide hoists and jigs.
- Manage and maintain all facility and equipment AutoCAD drawings.
- Support Safety projects and activities throughout the plant including guarding, platform railings and step design for equipment.
- Work as a resource for continuous improvement activities related to OEE, and processes.
- Other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent amount of previous relevant experience.
- Three to Five years of manufacturing experience.
- AutoCAD
- Ability to gather and organize data in a format that identifies improvement opportunities with clear objectives and realistic action initiatives.
- Ability to work with all levels of people in achievement of plant objectives.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
