Responsibilities

Summary: 

A successful systems analyst will be a key member of an agile delivery squad but is also involved in solutioning with our Squad Leads / Product Owners to gather & document business requirements, leading current state analysis of our systems, helping define our technology solution, and partnering with testers in test case preparation. The role requires great collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the life cycle of a product/application.

 

What You’ll Contribute Day-to-Day:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies.
  • Examine and identify inter-dependencies between systems
  • Analyze existing systems and document requirements or specifications for improvement.
  • Participate in the design of new computer systems and applications.
  • Identify requirements through analysis of existing business models, use cases, workflow analysis, and documents
  • Understand and document interfaces between systems.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Use agile methodologies to achieve requirements.
  • Scope project feasibility.
  • Use requirements analysis information to make recommendations to system functionality and create stories to execute recommendations.
  • Support the implementation and operations of systems.
  • Provide direction to a project or team.
  • Provide support to business and technical partners throughout all testing phases, including triaging system defects in production and non-production environments.
  • May consult with internal and external clients to present proposals.
  • Work within the team to ensure committed deliverables adhere to establish schedule.

  • Information Technology (IT) Operations: Understands Information Technology (IT) practices and business approaches to operate within or manage IT Operations in a workable and sustainable manner.
  • Information Technology (IT) Policies and Procedures: Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide Information Technology (IT) practices within the organization.
  • Information Technology Service Management (ITSM): Designs, creates, delivers, manages, and improves the organization's Information Technology (IT) services it provides to its end users. Aligns IT processes and services with business objectives to help an organization grow.
  • IT Acumen: Keeps abreast with trends, developments, and technologies within the field of Information Technology, locally and internationally. Understands the impact of these on the organization. Incorporates relevant trends to ensure organization's relevancy and competitiveness.
  • Principles of Information Technology: Understands and implements the principles of information technology.
  • Product Improvement: Improves an existing product, that is already marketed and sold to consumers, in a minor or significant manner, to gain new customers or provide increased benefits for existing customers.
  • Product Management: Leads a product from the conception phase through to launch, focusing on features, business value, and the customer.
  • Product Strategy: Defines clear goals and objectives of new and existing products. Uses these goals to guide the product roadmap.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Focuses on the maintenance of a desired level of quality in a service or product, with attention to every stage of the process of delivery or production.

  • Project Management: Manages projects from end to end including scoping, resource allocation and management, project planning, task assignment and tracking against project plan, assessing risks as well as project reporting. Ensures projects are delivered on time and under budget.
