POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor of Media Publishing will own the program management strategy for how we ingest, manage, and distribute assets from various internal and external stakeholders and make them easily accessible for global partners. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining metadata and curation strategies that enable our internal teams and external partners to work more efficiently within common platforms (DAM, PIM, etc.), and raise the experience bar for our internal and external customers.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Lead the ongoing administration and maintenance of a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to support organizational projects. This includes consolidation of existing DAMs and asset repositories.
- Daily multi-channel / platform management, including video and photo uploading and optimization.
- Continually refine and implement metadata schemas, controlled vocabularies, taxonomies, file and folder naming conventions and structures, and align the team on resulting best practices
- Lead the team of retouchers and guide the broader team in Marketing, Merchandising and Tech Development teams to improve workflow and to ensure highest quality standards are met.
- Manage licensing and legal issues around digital asset use and intellectual property, and develop solutions that serve business, creative, and legal requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Library Science, Information Science, or related is preferred, or 3-5 years equivalent experience in asset or information management required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with metadata input, organizing large amounts of files, hi-res file transmissions (FTP, servers, etc.), file naming conventions and database reporting required.
- Experience administering DAMs with an emphasis on managing creative marketing assets within other creative industries like advertising and entertainment marketing required.
- Experience educating non-technical stakeholders and working across multiple teams and regions.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data.
- Experience with high-volume, high-velocity, large-scale file management (workflow orchestration, file-movement, permission management, etc.).
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Working knowledge of metadata creation, management, and remediation best practices.
- Deep knowledge of video, audio, and image encoding formats and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal language skills required. Ability to proof-read copy and scripts.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw an interpret graphs.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervisor: Schedules, oversees, and reviews the work of direct reports.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Visual Acuity
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
