Summary
Responsible to prepare and file financial reports in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following examples of duties and responsibilities illustrate the general range of tasks assigned to the position but are not intended to define the limits of required duties. Other essential duties may be assigned consistent with the general scope of the position.
- Management and preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements and reporting using International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Korean IFRS (K-IFRS)
- Work as a team member to prepare Management Discussion and Analysis, Board of Directors reporting, reporting compliance certification, corporate governance reporting, shareholder matters and sustainability reporting
- Maintain knowledge of application of existing and new IFRS
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance and coordinate efforts of accounting staff and operating units to meet compliance requirements
- Maintain documentation for conclusions on management estimates and application of accounting standards
- Maintain Financial Account Close and Reporting Calendar
- Provide support in preparation of quarterly and annual reports and materials for board of directors’ audit committee. Provide necessary communication and follow-up.
- Serve as the liaison to the board of directors’ audit committee for provision of oversight and awareness by the board concerning issues and conclusions reached for items impacting reported amounts and disclosures
- Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgets, and external reporting requirements
- Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, operating expenses, and insurance records
- Direct and participate in cost analyses and profitability studies
- Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues
- Direct testing and review of accounting and administrative controls
- Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems
- Coordinate preparation of external audit
Qualifications
Incumbents must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and five (5) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Requires one (1) to three (3) in a managerial or supervisory role
Europe and Korea financial experience preferred; other international financial experience beneficial - Master's degree (MBA) preferred
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Proficiency in SAP or similar computer system for both maintenance of company accounting and reporting records and to extract/produce reports
Other Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) required
- Understanding of Korean IFRS and financial standards and principles preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to communicate issues of economics, accounting, and finance to facilitate and aid decision making
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form
- Skilled at managing budgets, and monitoring expenditures against them, both on an on-going and project basis
- Demonstrate initiative and skill at developing improvements in systems, practices, processes, and tools to drive performance improvement in the assigned area
- Take personal responsibility for the performance of the assigned area and team
- Challenge self and others to choose the most practical approach and seeks out improvements

- Provide advice and guidance, and lead accounting team members as necessary
- Budget responsibility for External Auditor and Consolidations Systems Support and Maintenance
