Title: Sales Engineer (SE)
Our customer's ultimate success depends on our ability to solve innovative customer problems. As a Field Sales Engineer you interface between our external customers and internal support teams. You sell and promote our manufacturers’ products within an assigned territory and defined accounts. You help devise strategies to differentiate our solutions from our competitors. You broaden the customer base and increase penetration at existing accounts, including key global accounts.
Primary functions:
• Work closely with Recht Associates’ manufacturers sales management, product division marketing and engineering personnel to identify target customers and applications to increase design wins and expand print position at both new and existing customers.
• Build rapport and provide customer support by supplying information related to samples, delivery dates, part drawings and specifications, quality issues, credit issues, etc.
• Responsible for driving all design-in activity and tracing design-wins globally for the assigned customer accounts and geographies.
• Develop and grow relationships with supply base management and design engineering at strategic customers.
• Develop and grow relationships with Recht Associates’ Distributor partners for key business opportunities.
• Using Recht Associates CRM systems and tools to document and track customer/project opportunities from early stage identification to project launch and finally late stage project maturity.
• Work closely with Recht Associates team members to maximize sales opportunities.
• Develop and implement sales plan and growth strategy for territory and customers. Deliver this plan consistently.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the market and competition in your territory.
• Keep informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers.
Required Attributes:
• Self-motivated to work as an individual sales contributor in a field or home office.
• Sales skills to successfully negotiate a technical design win, approved vendor status, contracts, and customer partnership.
• Technical ability to learn entire Recht Associates’ manufacturers product portfolio and deliver to customers a value proposition strategy for each product line.
• Ability to engage represented manufacturers sales management, business development engineers and customer service personnel to identify and close new business and application opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal skills such as active listening, written communication, collaboration, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and adaptability.
• Ability to interface with represented manufacturers executive staff and product divisions to explain/defend key business strategies, revenue forecasts and customer situations within assigned territory.
• Strong verbal presentation skills and adaptability to all levels of personnel.
• Willingness and ability to develop conflict resolution skills between customer, sales (internal and representatives), manufacturers and distributors.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office 365 tools: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
Requirements:
• Technical degree (minimum Bachelors), preferably in an Engineering discipline (EE or ME) or a proven track record of success in selling electronic components for 3 years.
• Will consider an experienced Field Applications Engineer or Design Engineer with the willingness to move to Sales and a strong desire to succeed.
