How you make a difference
The Unit Director will oversee overall operation of the housing units 24/7, including housing assignment, property distribution, room decorum, unit rules and procedures, quiet and comfort room usage and protocols, medication and medical needs, medical record documentation, emergency response and at-risk monitoring. They are responsible for implementing standards, policy and procedures and for facilitating clinical care on the housing units.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees housing assignments, property distribution, room decorum, unit rules and procedures.
- Implements quiet and comfort room usage and protocols.
- Monitors medical record documentation, emergency response and at-risk monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and accreditation requirements and expectations.
- Coordinates multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings, unit activities, and employee duties.
- Completes and submits performance improvement (PI) and other required reports in the time frames designated
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Required: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
- Preferred: Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
Experience
- Required: Experience with relevant population.
- Preferred: Supervisory experience.
Licenses/Certifications
- Required: Licensed or license-eligible in appropriate discipline.
- Required: Any client-mandated certifications and/or training.
Compliance
- Must adhere to compliance requirements from company, client agency, and accreditation bodies.
