Job Description
In this role, you will drive the successful planning and execution of programs and projects for developing radar environment simulators and electronic countermeasure systems
You Are A Part of: You will work closely with Engineering and Program Management and lead highly technical teams composed of systems, hardware, and software engineers to develop and sustain products for the Data Systems Product Line.
Responsibilities
- Lead a technical team to develop, create, and modify avionics-related applications software and/or driver development.
- Manage program technical scope from initiation through hardware/software end product delivery
- Coordinate and track engineering efforts to ensure successful engineering execution for meeting program technical requirements and milestones
- Support identification of required technical resources (e.g. people, equipment, and lab space) and provide resource forecasts for ongoing and future programs
- Work with stakeholders in developing program schedules with detailed engineering tasks and hours for proposals and BoEs
- Manage and prioritize engineering tasks through the utilization of MS Project, JIRA and Confluence tools
- Support program reviews, internal and external audits, and ensure engineering efforts are carried out per program approved processes and procedures
- Ensure engineering documents and artifacts are created and released in accordance with the program’s configuration management plan
- Monitor/measure engineering performance, cost, and spending through implementation and maintenance of engineering metrics
- Support Engineering Playbook efforts in developing and implementing common processes and tools
- Coordinate with the procurement team and 3rd party vendors on statements of work, quotations, and purchase orders for engineering materials and services
Qualifications
- Experience with MS Project
- Experience with Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM and Kanban
- Experience with task/ issue tracking tools, such as JIRA
- Experience with documentation and collaboration tools, such as Confluence and SharePoint
- C/C programming in Linux environment. Experience with Linux and kernel development.
- Experience with Linux Multimedia frameworks such as Gstreamer, ALSA and V4L2 is desired
- Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP and FTP desired
- Experience with avionics applications is a plus
- Able to analyze and fix complex software and firmware issues from a system-level viewpoint.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- A positive can-do attitude
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 4 years of embedded systems experience or a Master’s in Computer Science or a related field with 2 years of embedded Linux systems experience
