Job Brief
Our client is looking for an experienced product manager with a very technical background to own and champion tech debt and stability improvements across their products. The ideal candidate will have experience with resolving legacy and scaling issues, as well as experience working with stakeholders to manage prioritization. Our client is looking for someone with solid product skills as well as domain expertise to help prioritize work with fewer externally-visible deliverables. In addition, they are looking for someone who is:
- Open-minded, creative and proactive
- Experienced with OpenAPI and RESTful APIs
- Technical enough to work closely with their engineering team
- Comfortable working with solution engineers
- Experienced working in a scrum software development team
- Comfortable with fluid situations and competing priorities
- Experience in payment rails, cryptocurrency onramps and/or custody is a plus
- Engineering or other technical background a big plus
This is an individual contributor role. Our clients' product team is geographically distributed, and this position is welcome to work from wherever you can be most productive. Job Responsibilities:
- Manage timelines and scoping of stability improvement projects
- Prioritization and resolution of stability issues discovered by bug bounty program and support
- Work with Engineering and DevOps to identify and prioritize existing opportunities for improvement
- Create requirements and execute against the roadmap for all stability issues
- Understand our clients' API product suite
- Work closely with our data team and engineering team, as well as other product managers to help determine the best implementation approach and a reasonable execution schedule
- Serve as a hands on, flexible product manager with the ability to work across multiple teams, detail oriented while considering the bigger picture and long-term strategy
- Support all aspects of product management, with an ownership mindset and consistent delivery on commitments
- Communicate clearly and succinctly across departments and to senior management concerning product status, trade-offs, and key recommendations
- Manage prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience, performance, and operational support, while meeting regulatory requirements and improving product stability
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in related product management
- Experience working with B2B API products strongly preferred
- Understanding of technical architecture, data modeling and schema design
- Experience as a technical product manager or developer a plus
- SQL skills strongly preferred
- Precise and succinct written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence without authority and drive execution
- Enjoy paying attention to minute details others want to brush over
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and schedules can quickly shift as business needs warrant
- Flourishing when given responsibility and a sense of ownership
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
