About the Role

They are looking for an experienced Security Architect to join their global and highly specialist Information Technology team. As a Security Architect, you will work hand-in-hand with engineers designing and implementing their core platform services. This highly dynamic, hands-on role will work in-depth with their scaled, distributed infrastructure to ensure performance and protection are evenly balanced.

The overall cyber defense architecture shall provide the necessary foundation to design, document, deploy and maintain and monitor security solutions and infrastructures, including security controls, that are required to efficiently prevent, detect and respond to security incidents and cyber-attacks and implement security policy requirements. Security architects should fully support the business and functional requirements whilst promoting an efficient segmentation of the infrastructure components to facilitate the identification, containment, eradication and recovery from a compromise

Responsibilities

• Designs, integrate and implements complex Cyber Security solutions from a technical perspective.
• Align Cybersecurity strategy and planning with the organization's business goals
• Contribute to the definition of the architectural security blueprint
• Integrate new solutions with existing frameworks based on an architectural security blueprint
• Transition solutions to teams in charge of daily operations
• Maintains a holistic view of the organization's strategy, process, information and IT assets
• Link the business mission, strategy and process to the IT and Cyber Defense strategies 
• Act as a leader for developers, system engineers and technical experts

Deliverables

• Build and leverage threat models to secure core platform services
• Applies technical knowledge of architecture solutions to meet business and information technology (IT) requirements and resolve identified technical constraints
• Lead and conduct system integration
• Design solutions including service aspects (cf. ITIL service design activities)
• Evaluate security solutions through Proof of concepts
• Build and leverage threat models to secure core platform services
• Applies methodology and governance, as directed, to minimize business and technical risks and adhere to quality assurance while contributing to the design and/or delivery of solutions (e.g. Well-Architected Framework, Enterprise-Scale Landing Zone, Cloud Adoption Framework).

Your Profile

• Minimum – seven years of relevant experience
• Experience building security solutions for AWS. Moreover, working knowledge of AWS technologies, including a solid understanding of CloudWatch, EC2, S3, IAM and Lambda services
• Experience working with teams in engineering and collaborating with developers and infrastructure teams
• Demonstrated capabilities to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams 
• Cloud Security-related certifications (Preferred)
• Understanding of compliance needs and evidence collection
• In-depth knowledge of Cloud platforms, Linux, and security at scale
• Strong written and communication skills

AT least one of the following certificates: 

• SABSA Chartered Security Architect - Foundation Certificate (SCF) 
• TOGAF Certified_
• CISSP - ISSAP ( Certified Information Systems Security Architecture Professional
• CGEIT (ISACA Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT)
• GRISC (ISACA Certified in Risk and Information System Control)
• GSNA (GIAC Certified System of Network Auditor) 
• SCPA (SABSA Certified Security Architecture Design & Development specialist.
