What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Finance position at Red Diamond, Inc.?
Accountable for managing Red Diamond’s financial and accounting policies, systems and processes, tax and regulatory requirements, and budgetary process. Oversees monthly closeout of financial data. Works with external auditors on year-end and other audits. Manages Red Diamond’s relationships with bank representatives and insurance broker representatives.
Essential job functions:
- Oversees preparation of monthly and annual financial statements to be reviewed by CFO. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, as needed.
- Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, manages the annual budgetary process. Works with division managers to ensure budgets are thorough and realistic while at the same time ensures money is managed as efficiently as possible.
- Verifies appropriateness of internal controls in daily operations related to financial management. Coordinate audit activity and ensure internal processes are being followed.
- Prepares and provides financial information for the bank(s) as requested. Develops cash flow forecasting and maintains a long term cash forecast.
- Serves as company’s lead contact with insurance broker on commercial insurance policies. Manages the annual insurance renewal process and provides appropriate company information as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Advanced knowledge of management and financial accounting principles.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with employees from all levels of the Company.
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines with little oversight.
- Advanced skills with ERP systems and database extraction programs
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus 10 years job-related experience in public accounting required.
Licenses or Certifications Required: CPA required.
