The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Consulting Services Manager to join us in the Central Region of the U.S. In this role, you will develop, cultivate, and manage relationships within key customer accounts. You will oversee the successful delivery of projects under your management from kickoff to closeout, including determining scope details and monitoring the project's progress to ensure that it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements. You’ll also help identify and qualify new business opportunities and work with Red Hat’s Sales team to formulate account strategies that promote revenue growth. You will work with Red Hat’s sales representatives to guide consulting sales opportunities from qualification to closing while managing all assigned projects and resources while meeting revenue, margin, and booking goals. As a Consulting Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing senior associates and as such you will be expected to lead one-on-one meetings, provide support with escalations, lead performance and development conversations, and coordinate the general team with architects and project managers in your region. You’ll need to have a good foundation of technical knowledge and project and scope management expertise, as you'll establish the technical and non-technical enablement needs for the Consulting team. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do:
- Manage revenue and booking across all assigned accounts, territories, and subregions
- Manage and meet margin targets at project, account, and subregional levels
- Grow assigned territory through the development of internal business partnerships with the field sales team and alliance and partner programs
- Meet year-over-year growth targets for assigned territory
- Design and implement effective, high-impact technical and business solutions for Red Hat’s customers
- Contribute to and share complex, reusable, and high-impact services solutions across North America (NA) to help solve recurring customer problems
- Structure and manage complex projects
- Provide accurate and consistent revenue and booking forecasts for assigned accounts, territories, and subregions on a weekly basis
- Navigate and proactively own escalation procedures to push an issue to closure
- Facilitate the end-to-end delivery of Red Hat’s services sales opportunities within accounts, focusing on sales for net new or farming
- Scope, structure, and manage complex projects surrounding Red Hat’s technologies with assistance from technical subject matter experts
- Strategically plan with internal and customer associates to ensure success within the sales and delivery of Red Hat’s solutions
- Manage customer sales cycles with reporting senior managers to help guide business to closure
- Work with the Sales Leadership teams to strategize, plan, and coordinate quarterly and yearly plans on services sales
- Be responsible for the end-to-end orchestration and delivery of applicable services contracts with contracting team support
- Be responsible for the negotiation and input on teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and organizational conflict of interest documents
- Be responsible for the orchestration of term and condition language between Red Hat Legal team, customers, and partners
- Provide sales and scoping support to assigned customers, managing Red Hat Consulting revenue
- Cooperate with customer success executives to plan regular meetings with customers to build relationships in a professional and personal manner through on-site meetings and events
- Analyze, strategize, and assist in development roadmaps with customers to help grow and expand Red Hat services footprint
- Hold executive meetings to establish trusted adviser relationships with customer executives
- Build relationships with trusted Red Hat’s partners to increase shared inspiration within accounts
- Demonstrate professionalism in orchestrating conversations for new potential Red Hat’s partners
- Develop partner relationships extending beyond existing customers to help develop deeper community of Red Hat’s partners
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and Resource Management teams on hiring needs and help them forecast and identify resources constraints
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on planning and delivering hiring events
- Work with the director and VP levels on quarter-over-quarter capacity and hiring plans
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or other relevant education
- Customer-facing field experience
- Consulting delivery or sales experience
- Expert-level presentation skills proven through presentations at conferences or customer meetings
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration
- Understanding of agile principles
- Successful oversight and management of multiple accounts inclusive of consulting sales cycles
- Experience managing large customer programs and solutions
- Solid foundation of technical knowledge in enterprise architecture, application development, infrastructure, and cloud technologies
- Presales and scope management expertise
- Experience presenting to and managing executive relationships with customers
- Experience working in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or engineer, preferably within a technology or consulting organization
