We need someone that can fix things, do some maintenance work and help with random projects.
A little mechanic work, build a shelf, paint a wall, find a part, fix a water leak kind of things.
Things that some people over look but need to be done right by someone who cares.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Welding Shop Fixer to join our team and contribute to the smooth functioning of our welding shop. As a Fixer, you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and machinery used in welding and metal fabrication processes. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure optimal performance. This includes conducting inspections, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts as needed.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues with welding machines and equipment. Promptly address malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
Repairs: Skillfully repair welding machines and related equipment, including but not limited to MIG welders, TIG welders, plasma cutters, and gas torches.
Welding Machine Setup: Set up and calibrate welding machines for specific projects, ensuring they are in proper working order and meeting required specifications.
Inventory Management: Keep track of spare parts, consumables, and welding supplies. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure an adequate supply of essential items.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all equipment is in compliance with safety standards and protocols. Conduct regular safety checks and address safety concerns immediately.
Assist Welders: Provide technical support to welders and other shop personnel. Help troubleshoot welding-related issues and offer guidance on welding techniques and equipment operation.
Welding Projects Support: Collaborate with the fabrication team to assist in welding projects when required, especially during peak workloads or unique challenges.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service schedules.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in maintaining and repairing welding machines and related equipment. Knowledge of different welding processes and their applications is desirable.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and promoting a safe working environment.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to perform thorough inspections and ensure the highest standards of equipment performance.
- Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the welding team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing demands and work in a dynamic environment.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of handling the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.
- Certification: Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding equipment maintenance and repair are a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.92 - $21.58 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Choose your own hours
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
