What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor position at Red Robin Corporate?
The Senior Internal Auditor acts as an energetic and collaborative auditor that leads high quality and efficient audit services that generate value for Red Robin and our internal clients. This person leads and executes financial (SOX), operational, technology, and loss prevention audits that evaluate internal controls as well as compliance with policy, laws, and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Performs planning and testing to support the performance of the annual Sarbanes Oxley evaluation.
- Plans, performs and reports on operational, financial and compliance audit projects as assigned.
- Reviews work prepared by other Internal Audit staff for completeness and accuracy.
- Plans each assignment to ensure that the engagement identifies potential business risks and develops audit programs to address risk areas.
- Executes detailed audit procedures, including reviewing transactions, documents, records, reports, and policies & procedures to evaluate effectiveness of internal controls.
- Assists department management with planning and organizing department activities and the annual audit plan.
- Leads data-driven investigations associated with loss detection at the restaurant level.
- Develops recommendations and proposals for corrective action/improvement.
- Ensures that all follow-up on recommendations is performed timely.
- Prepares audit reports, presentations, and case summaries for management based on the results of audit procedures and investigations performed.
- Represents department on cross functional project teams and at management meetings.
- Supports restaurants to promptly root cause and address concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in public accounting, internal audit outsourcing firm, corporate internal audit or corporate accounting experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar required.
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience required.
- CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.

**Position will be primarily remote, with occasional requirements to be in the office.
Compensation Range: $58,500.00 - $80,475.00
