What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager position at Red Wing Food Shelf?
The Red Wing Area Food Shelf is looking for a manager. The individual is this position is the “face” of the organization so a positive and helpful demeanor are essential.
The duties of this position include overall management of the food shelf, inventory and ordering of food etc., volunteer recruitment and training, record keeping and reports, fundraising (may include grant writing) and fostering connections with businesses, community organizations, churches and other agencies.
Knowledge and skills:
1. Effective oral and written communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
2. Computer proficiency, including using social media to enhance the mission of the food shelf.
3. Ability to work independently and with a large number (100 )of volunteers.
4. Ability to lift up to forty pounds.
The position has a starting wage of $18-$22 an hour, depending on experience and is up to 25 hours a week.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
