SUMMARY OF JOB
The Emergency Department Technician assists nursing personnel by performing a variety of technical and patient care procedures, and by assisting with duties related to the operations of the Emergency Department. Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. and communicates with multidisciplinary team members, as appropriate, about changes in a condition or response to treatment. Acts as a patient/customer advocate and an HRHS representative meeting the patient/family needs throughout the hospital experience.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/Equivalency
- Emergency Medical Technician/ Paramedic certification preferred
- CPR certification
- Health Aide Certificate or 2 years experience in acute care setting
- Previous clinical health care experience is preferred
- Must be available for alternating shifts
- Approved in Phlebotomy and EKG procedures
- Stroke education per unit protocol annually
- Must meet satisfactory completion of orientation and competency validation within probationary period
