Position Description:
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for all database instances across a variety of server versions and operating systems. Configure and maintain database(s) and applications, requiring both technical experience and ability to interface with all levels of users. You will be accountable for the performance and integrity of the database, working with users to plan for development and troubleshoot any issues related to data or access. A background of continuous learning and ownership is required to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Administer on-prem SQL Server and Azure databases and instances
- Administer AWS MySQL databases and instances
- Support Azure SQL Instances including replication, performance and architecture.
- Assure backups, redundancy and DR plan is functioning and available at all times
- Implement and maintain necessary processes to assure data integrity and periodic validations
- Configure and maintain database and related servers and systems
- Create, modify and improve existing system queries
- Monitor and maintain systems health, availability, security and performance
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Assist with deployment and configuration of SSIS, Analysis services and SSRS sites and tools
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist partners and developers with query tuning and schema refinement and code deployment
- Partner with other teams to meet goals
- Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
- Effectively script in PowerShell or other current language
- Create database management procedures
- Assist with application and user support when needed
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA role with multiple and concurrent systems
- Experience with
· SQL Profiler, DMVs, error logs and related tool
· Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
· Backups and implementations, restores and recovery models
· High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
· MY SQL Server Administration
· Windows server, including Active Directory
· Familiarity with Azure Managed SQL
