What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at Reece?
The Purchasing Agent provides support to the branch by placing orders with vendors for stock and non-stock products, as well as process all returned product. The position will establish a keen attention to detail to ensure a system is in place for maintaining inventory levels and availability and will also guarantee a high level of customer service when dealing with vendors and other team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Reviews suggested purchase order queue.
- Places orders for “special” or non-stock products for customers.
- Will Process all defective, non-stock or overstock returned goods product.
- Reviews lost sale report and places orders and/or adjust inventory as needed.
- Reviews Purchase Order Expedite Queue.
- Reviews inventory adjustment report.
- Runs suggested transfer queue daily.
- Work procurement confirmation queue, this queue should be looked at once an hour.
- Work suggested PO emergency queue, after transfers and first look at procurement queue.
- Work remainder of suggested PO que sorted by asd $ carry cost
- Work return goods queue, this needs to be done daily.
- Request RGA’s from vendors, process rts invoices.
- Work PO expedite queue as time allows, must be worked at least once a week.
REQUIRED SKILLS /ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least two years of purchasing experience required.
- Basic knowledge of Eclipse and company operating system.
