Description
The Receptionist helps coordinate and organize the functions of the dialysis unit. Maintain an orderly flow from the patient waiting room to the treatment floor. Is the initial contact person for phone and walk-in assistance. Keeps the flow of information going in an accurate and efficient manner. Participates in the management of patient care, records, data collection and submission to internal and external sources.
All RRH employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all RRH Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.

Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist doctors, patients and visitors.
- Operate telephone system. Direct incoming calls to proper unit personnel.
- Notify appropriate unit employees of visitors’ arrival.
- Typing and clerical duties as assigned by Management team.
- Demonstrate ability to perform technical skills related to Receptionist position.
- Assumes responsibility for medical records by keeping patient’s charts up to date.
- Checks, opens, sorts, and delivers mail appropriately.
- Schedule appointments for staff and patients as directed.
- Track data for permanent, transient and guest treatments.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment needed to run the unit.
- Prepares requisitions for lab tests and other procedures, as requested, informs and distributes the results daily to the Charge Nurse.
- Responsible for getting and typing all information needed to complete CQI.
- Reconcile charges and number of treatments against medication log daily to ensure accuracy.
- Obtain patient information for verification of insurance coverage and create patient file.
- Interview and verify patient’s insurance status.
- Answer questions regarding coverage and benefits available.
- Maintain up-to-date records of patient’s funding and demographics.
- Maintain direct contact with various insurance companies to ensure correct insurance ability.
- Assist office personnel as needed and complete other duties delegated by Administrator.
20. Data entry and reporting to internal and external sources as delegated.
21. Makes photo-copies appropriately.
22. Completes Medicare Justification in a timely manner.
23. Assists in arranging transportation, appointments, referrals, and vacation information forms, etc. for patients as necessary.
24. Participate in special projects, staff meetings and in-services as appropriate.
25. Follows safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors, and employees, and follows universal infection control precautions and procedures regarding handling hazardous chemicals.
26. Follows basic principles of medical asepsis and practices aseptic technique, if necessary or applicable.
27. Responds with patient and non-patient emergencies according to policies and procedures within job requirements.
28. Assists in the evacuation of patients in the event of emergency fire and/or disaster.
29. Promotes, supports and adheres to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
30. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
31. Computer literate in basics of PC use and data entry.
32. Ability to accurately perform general clerical duties.
33. Attend and contribute to meetings and other organizational trainings and events.

Salary : $23,300 - $29,500
