Role Description
The MAC program is seeking applicants with significant teaching and clinical experience who can bring practical expertise to the classroom. This is a full-time on-site role for a Professor of Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. The Professor of Counseling will be responsible for teaching counseling courses, supervising graduate counseling students in their on-site practicum and internships, conducting research and/or scholarship activities, and engaging in a minimal private practice. They will also be involved in mentoring and guiding students in their academic and professional growth. Preferred candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of counseling and Christian theology.
Qualifications
- PhD in Counselor Education or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013
- Possess, or are eligible for, licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi
- Possess clinical supervisory licensure and experience
- Demonstrate service to the profession and the broader community through local, regional, and national affiliations, with evidence of scholarship through presentations and/or publications
- Demonstrate a concern for ministry in the church as well as professional mental health counseling
- Desire a collaborative and unified pedagogical relationship with fellow RTS faculty
- Commitment to the Reformed faith
