What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Supervisor position at Reichhold, Inc.?
The Logistics Supervisor will manage, track and monitor the safe and timely delivery of packaged shipments to customers. Arranging load assignments as determined through the negotiated lane efforts of Corporate Logistics and confirm coverage of every load. In support of the plant quality management system (ISO 9000).
This position will work closely with all levels of production personnel and carriers to ensure that equipment is assigned, available and ready to be filled on a timely basis, specific shipping instructions for each sales order and customer are followed by the carriers. Additionally, following up with production personnel on delayed shipments, determining cause for delay and reporting delay to carrier and management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review next day customer shipments and Open Orders for new customer orders daily. Ensure all customer orders requiring bulk and packaged deliveries are in place and covered by responsible carrier. Covering 3rd party shipments as required.

Coordinate pick-ups of bulk and packaged finished products with carriers using the open order sheet to ensure loads are confirmed by the carriers. Confirming any necessary shipping instructions with the carrier. With 24/7 availability for production/carrier issues.

Logging carrier exceptions on Daily Exceptions report when deliveries are delayed or late. Keep track of carrier non-conformance for Corporate reviews with carrier. Work with Corporate Logistics to implementing process improvements for carriers.

Conduct daily yard checks. Manage on-site leased trailers, product, and costs (daily/ monthly). Providing the best options for the plant that are the most cost effective.

Review and approve incoming demurrage, trailer rental invoices from AP for accuracy in billing.

Provide coverage for Warehouse and Inventory Manager (includes maintaining proper training in DOT, IATA and IMDG)

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of SAP preferred.
General understanding of Dispatch operations of packaged and bulk hazmat carriers and required equipment configurations.
Understanding of DOT Regulations pertaining to transportation of Hazardous Materials and general rules.
Suitable verbal and written communication skills are required.
Microsoft skills (Excel, outlook)
Supervisory experience a plus
Education:
High School Diploma, 5 years experience in customer service or logistics management
