The Rejuvenation design team consists of highly creative, collaborative and technical thinkers. As part of the team you’ll bring your ideas to the discussion. Our role is to create both practical and innovative products with a story to tell.
Overview of the Design Supervisor role
As the Furniture design supervisor, your efforts will be to design high-quality, beautiful, functional items across top driving categories. Each season you’ll work closely with the Head Design Manager and VP Creative Director to translate concepts into cohesive product designs. Developing designs that reflect the market and customer/business trends. You’ll help lead, inspire, and project manage a team of designers. You’ll work closely with a wide range of cross-functional teams in order to see all designs through to fruition.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily functions for the Furniture & Func Acc design team
- Manage and develop 2 designers, assistants, and associate levels
- Project manage developments in partnership with the Furniture Engineering team
- Oversee design and development of all new developments across furniture, and hardgoods utility categories, from initial concept through product development to final approval
- Act as lead designer for all furniture developments
- Gather market research and follow design trends.
- Create presentation boards that align with the seasonal concept and overall brand direction.
- Design products and collections based on merchandising needs.
- Communicate ideas clearly and efficiently.
- Create technical specifications for vendors to follow for quoting and development.
- Work directly with global offices/vendors and domestic partners to produce designs.
- Manage and participate in product development meetings.
- Review samples, issue comments and approve all product specifications and final samples
- Travel to factories and trade shows both domestically and internationally, as needed.
- Track and manage product development tracker, budget, and finish standards.
- Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
- Transport materials and equipment and lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis
Criteria
- Minimum 4 years of product design experience, preferably in furniture and/or hardware product development areas.
- 1-year of supervisory experience preferred
- Design and product development skills required
- Ability to produce technical drawings proficiently
- Experience using 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, Solidworks, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suites
- Collaborative and passionate about design and process building
- Has the ability to work with a broad range of internal and external personalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a strong orientation to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and juggle priorities.

- Ability to perform work onsite in the Portland office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
