RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the worlds premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.
Background Information:
This Electrical/Control Theory Engineer position provides support to Optical Systems Branchs Electro Optical Tracking Section (EOTS) team within the Range Instrumentation Division (RID) of the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) at Patuxent River, Maryland. As part of Opticals larger team, team members provide optical tracking and imaging support as part of flight test operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for hardware and software sustainment and development of complex optical tracking systems, specifically L3/Brashear Kineto Tracking Mount (KTM) systems configured with L3 Digital Control System (DCS) servo control systems
Responsible for the application of range optical instrumentation tracking and imaging systems to Navy flight test requirements
Responsible for specification, integration, maintenance, and application of sensor systems from visible to MWIR on a variety of platforms, to include camera systems and various types of optics/lenses/telescopes, to satisfy ATR flight test requirements
Responsible for the configuration and calibration of optical tracking systems to acquire Time Space Position Information (TSPI) for data analysis in support of flight test events
Some overtime and travel, including aboard Navy vessels, may be needed for mission and maritime operational support
Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to pass Drug Screening

Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline from a school of engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is required
Applicant must be a self-starter, flexible, and team-oriented to be able to work smoothly as a member of a technical team
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance
Work Conditions:
Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
