ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential job functions include: Executing, and cleaning-up of complex test programs with oversight from Senior Mechanical Specialists. Troubleshooting and repairing test asset equipment. Fabricating and installing test fixtures, equipment, and test articles. Performing aircraft brake, tire and wheel, and landing gear component build up and tear down to support test activities. Performing metal forming and operating with proficiency shop equipment. Installing, troubleshooting and repairing test hardware and test equipment for fasteners, hydraulics, hoses, pumps, and fittings. Safely handling fuels, hydraulic fluid, and other aerospace related chemicals. Using CAD/CAM and reading/interpreting blueprints to diagnose and repair test equipment. Operate and execute all test equipment for test programs. Collect test data. Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and update all test equipment. Operate material handling equipment (i.e., fork-lift, hoist, crane).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED is required. Proven mechanical aptitude and knowledge/experience in the use of using basic hand tools, mechanics tools, power tools, and basic shop machines (i.e. drill press, cutoff saw, grinder etc.). Previous experience working with aircraft and/or aircraft components is a plus. Familiarity with using computers and proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating System. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is a plus. Attention to detail, understand and following procedures, and observance of safety criteria is required. Previous experience with operating fork lifts, hoists, and cranes is a plus. Ability to train, receive, and maintain a forklift license and crane operators certification is required.

GENERAL DUTIES: The essential functions defined are not all immediately required but are desired work functions that can be obtained over time thru work experience and training. All work will be with oversight from higher level Mechanical Specialists and senior level personnel who will guide the Junior Mechanical Specialist to resolve basic and more complex tasks. Position requires working 2nd shift, Monday thru Thursday, 1400-0045 (10hr shift).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may function in a variety of environmental conditions both inside and outside, depending on mission requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of performing required tasks while using wide variations of physical effort such as sitting, running, walking, standing, crawling, climbing or remaining in awkward, sometimes strained, positions for extended periods of time.
