Role Profile
The Senior Group Accountant will report to the Assistant Group Controller. As part of the Corporate Accounting Team you will have the opportunity to partner with a number of internal departments including Treasury, Mergers and Acquisitions, Human Resources, Payroll, Tax, IT and regional finance. They will be responsible for various accounting areas supporting all Corporate accounting activities, including performing monthly close processes, internal financial reporting, internal control compliance, and budgeting and forecasting.
Principal Responsibilities
- Respond to requests from leadership and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
- Assist with analyzing both the balance sheet and the income statement to ensure accuracy; assist with variance analysis from budget, forecast, and prior month.
- Document and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Identify potential efficiency improvements throughout the accounting function to increase productivity in the department.
- Assist with yearly budget process and quarterly forecast updates.
- Prepare supporting documentation as needed for annual audits and tax preparation.
- Work with other departments as assigned to create and enhance monthly cost center reviews to enhance the accuracy of actual results and forecasting capabilities.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of ad hoc reporting to prepare for additional responsibilities and changing business demand.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries to the general ledger and have general ledger accountability
- Collaborate with corporate and field accounting and financial, planning & analysis to support overall department goals and objectives
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ensure all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with the close schedule
- Record daily corporate cash activity
- Assist with year-end audit including to provide supporting documentation for auditors
- IFRS 16 leases, Intercompany, fixed assets, AP

Strong communication skills highly preferred due to the variability of the business partner range of influence.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience
- Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven accounting environment
- SAP and HFM software experience is a plus
