What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at RELX?
- Responsibilities:
- Business intelligence and metrics reporting: develop, enhance, capture, and generate data and reports pertaining to productivity, timeliness, quality, and other key performance metrics
- Data insights and analysis: identify, research, and analyze data that can be accurately processed; provide actionable business insights to mitigate and improve service levels; and identify issues in data that need to be fixed
- Develops and maintains customer information database (usually specific data marts) to support analysis, application development, and data-driven marketing techniques
- Manages information security, data protection, data quality and exchange
- Liaises with the IT and other data management functions as required both internally and externally
- Perform other tasks/projects assigned by immediate superior
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor's, any field (preferably with a strong background in Statistics, Mathematics and/or Data Analytics) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau required.
- Experience with creating, editing or interpreting SQL data queries required.
- Familiarity with operations support teams and its related key metrics, targets, best practices, benchmarks, etc., preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and can easily build and sustain trust-based relationships with all levels of the organization
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, quantitative and deductive reasoning skills
- Demonstrated experience defining and/or creating reports on performance and key metrics
- Ability to think critically; looks beyond symptoms to identify causes of problems and potential trends
- Ability to work with leadership teams to translate data into action steps and reporting solutions
