Job Posting for Transitions Accountant-Remote at Remington Hotels, LLC
The primary purpose of the position is to assist the VP of Accounting with owner reporting needs, special projects and maintaining month-end documentation for numerous hotels.
Additional responsibilities include implementation and monitoring of effective controls and procedures; preparing accurate and timely reports and analyses; provide advice on financial matters which impact the hotel's profitability; and provide support and training to accounting associates. This Specialist works in partnership with the General Manager and Executive Committee members on operational issues to ensure the financial goals of the hotel are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with training hotel Accounting staff to accomplish accounting-related tasks efficiently and timely based on Remington policies.
Assume the responsibilities of the property Controller when the position is vacant or when the Controller is on leave
Prepare accurate profit budgets with input from the management staff on a timely basis.
Ensure that the various areas under the responsibility of the Controller are operating effectively and efficiently.
Ensure effective controls are in place to maximize profits and minimize losses.
Ensure corporate policies and procedures are in place and operating effectively.
Ensure financial reports are prepared accurately and timely.
Maintain a high level of organization within the Accounting department.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred (or substitute 10 years of hospitality accounting experience)
2 years in the hospitality field
ProfitSword/ProfitSage experience a plus
Knowledge of Hotel PMS systems (OnQ, Fossee, FS PMS, SMS, Opera, Lightspeed/Galaxy)
Ability to work remotely and independently
Prior experience and knowledge with Oracle preferred
