The Nevada program for SUN launches at a critical time. The EPA Solar for All initiative just invested $156 million into the state to support low-income solar programs. At the same time, local politicians are being pressured by the utility companies to make rooftop solar less economically attractive. This position will assist people to go solar in Nevada, while advocating to protect the rights and investment made by all solar households, by engaging the public, developing citizen advocates and educating elected officials about the many benefits of solar energy. This position will report directly to the West Region Director.

Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include:
- Leading the SUN state program in Nevada.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key organizational partners and funders.
- Working collaboratively with a set of internal regional support team members to implement SUN programs.
- Representing SUN in coalition spaces.
- Advocating for solar rights by lobbying elected officials and implementing public policy campaigns.
- Exploring the development of solar co-op (group purchase) and low-income solar programs in Nevada.
- Speaking to the media on behalf of the organization.
- Educating the public about all aspects of installing rooftop solar in Nevada, including local incentives, utility rates and regulations.
- Organizing and attending events (in-person and virtual).
- Cultivating a donor and volunteer network in the state.
- Resident of Nevada
- Minimum 5 years of experience with project management, managing teams, and building relationships
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and strategically
- Ability to work remotely, with frequent in-state travel
- Fluency in Spanish
- Inquisitive personality and interest in continuous learning
- Knowledge of solar, energy, and/or environmental issues affecting Nevada
- Solar technical knowledge
