Some responsibilities include:
Production
- Ensure the targeted levels of daily and weekly volume of quality product is produced
- Minimize downtime; address issues by establishing root cause and coordinating with Engineering for solutions
- Ensure proper training and setup, coordinating with Maintenance to ensure equipment is always in running order; continuously evaluate ways to surpass standards
- Continuously evaluate plans and resources in order to maximize production capability to ensure the plant is reaching its goals
- Coordinate with Information Systems to produce monthly reports of labor, material, and machine efficiency; review reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Manage material usage, production output, labor cost, scrap rate
- Coordinate with Warehouse/Inventory Manager to ensure the proper staging of material at each work center for continuous production of quality product across all shifts
- Responsible for all Pellet production, grinding operations and SSP operations
- Responsible for a 24 hour per day, seven day per week production department
Quality
- Ensure implementation of quality and food safety system for the recycling plant
- Review customer complaints and corrective actions on a regular basis
- Hold regular meetings and reviews to ensure quality and food safety systems are working as intended and facilitate corrective actions wherever necessary
- Focus on continuous improvement practices to improve quality
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure that all employees are properly trained in safety and that there is a continuous and daily effort to ensure compliance with all OSHA safety standards.
Experience:
- 10 year's experience working in a plant / production environment
- 5 year's experience in a management / supervisory role
- Experience working in recycling or plastics production preferred
