Sr Cost Accountant

SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT**Chester County, PA

HYBRID SCHEDULE – WORK 3 DAYS FROM HOME!!  

Responsibilities

• Manage month and year-end close process and Journal Entry recording
• Responsible for management of accounting functions for Canadian affiliate company
• Management of P&L variance analysis and corporate bank account reconciliations
• Manage recording of all corporate banking transactions and GL Accounting
• Perform multiple state filings, client exemption management and sales tax processes
• Assist with inventory control and analysis to support operations department
• Support controlling function for cost accounting and actual to budget analysis
• Preparation of documents and assist external accountants with year-end audits
• Perform ongoing maintenance and analysis of standard costs
• Assist with product analysis of gross margin to ensure profitability
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts making necessary adjustments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4 years of accounting experience within manufacturing and distribution industries a MUST
• Strong Cost Accounting skills a MUST
• GL Accounting, Journal Entry, month-end close and balance sheet analysis skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills and deadline driven 
• Proficient in multi-state sales and use tax law
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team
• High level of accuracy with attention to detail in fast paced environment
• Ability to adapt to multi-shifting priorities effectively and accurately
• Strong organizational skills required and intercompany transaction skills highly preferred
• Proficient in SAP and/or additional ERP software programs required  
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and knowledge of MS Suite of programs
