What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at Renaissance Care?
In-home caregiver needed. Looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and experienced. Driver's License required. CPR preferred. Must be able to pass a background check.
The Homemaker will be responsible for following and providing a daily care to our clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Homemaker may also be referred to as “Caregiver” and/or “Personal Attendant”.
- Be pleasant and supportive to the client.
- Follow Renaissance Care Employee Handbook.
- Follow Renaissance Care Policies and Procedures.
- Complete all documentation timely and accurately.
- Assisting client with personal care, which may include but not limiting to incontinence care, toileting, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assisting client with other duties, including but not limiting to meal preparation, washing, drying, shopping, folding and putting away laundry, light housekeeping, and safety reminders.
- Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place. You may also be expected to assist with some light housework.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
- Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
- Transporting or escorting the client as indicated in the Personal Attendant Log (PAL) for reach client.
- Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
- And other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must possess current valid driver’s license.
- Must possess current valid motor vehicle insurance.
- Must be approved on West Virginia Clearance for Access Registry and Employment Screening (WV CARES).
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Must be follow instruction of supervisor
- Must be polite and considerate of clients, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 26 lbs, and push or carry 50 lbs
- Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner
- Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
