Renewable Properties (RP) is looking for a seasoned and highly motivated Manager of Community Solar Programs. The Manager of Community Solar Programs will be responsible for managing the Community Solar (CS) aspect of RP’s business including identifying new CS markets for RP to enter; becoming an expert on the various CS programs RP operates in; determining an optimal CS subscriber mix and strategy; and identifying, engaging, and managing subscriber partner companies in the markets RP is active in. The ideal candidate has a track record of working on CS projects in various CS programs across the US. Experience with Low and Moderate Income (LMI) programs is highly encouraged. S/he must have entrepreneurial drive, deep and sophisticated understanding of the energy sector and excellent communication skills. This is an opportunity to play an integral role in driving Renewable Properties’ continued success and growth in a changing and impactful industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and help shape new CS programs for RP to enter and engage.
  • Engage with local stakeholders and trade associations to learn and help shape new beneficial CS markets in the US.
  • Determine optimal development and subscriber strategy to maximize RP success in the CS market.
  • Identify, engage, and manage various CS subscriber partner companies to assure target subscribers are obtained in a timely fashion.
  • Negotiate contracts with subscriber partner companies and help shape template subscriber agreements.
  • Assist project finance team in explaining programs and CS strategy to investors.
  • Help build RP’s understanding and participation with LMI components of CS programs.
  • Gather market intelligence and continuously strive to be an industry leading thinker in CS.
  • Manage and coordinate work efforts with other team members in an organized, flawless manner.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ experience working on CS policy and/or CS projects in various markets in the US.
  • Strong policy and business strategy acumen.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve time-sensitive issues with precision.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
  • Sophisticated understanding of the environmental and utility regulatory environment.
  • Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of success in navigating ambiguity and thriving in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
  • Resourceful team player with a track record of successfully collaborating cross-functionally.
