Job Description: Family and Community Resources Coordinator

Replications, Inc., a nonprofit school support organization based in New York City, seeks a qualified, experienced, and highly competent Family and Community Resources Coordinator. This person will fill a full-time position at a NYC Department of Education multi-sited K-12 District 75 school in the Bed-Stuyvesant/Bushwick area.

The Family and Community Resources Coordinator will be a key member of Replications’ site-based support team and work with other members of the team, school administration and staff to coordinate activities within and outside the school that will benefit the families and the communities where the school co-inhabits with other DOE schools. This will include providing social-emotional, mental health and other related services that satisfy the needs of the students and families. He/she will respond directly to the Community School Director. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of experience in a public or charter school, social services or community organization setting
  • Prior knowledge of working with children of all ages, especially with elementary and middle school students
  • High knowledge about students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and disabilities and working with their families
  • High knowledge of child development and social-emotional/mental health interventions
  • High knowledge in coordinating and organizing group functions, especially for families
  • Foster effective and strategic community partnerships to meet the needs of families.
  • Identify opportunities for parent workshops and link families to relevant resources.
  • Participate and/or create community events such as health fairs, community town halls, etc., that will result in accessing resources for families and students.
  • Experience finding resources for families in need of temporary housing, immigration support, food insecurity, translation services, and other impediments as the community requires and needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, students, and community partners.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the work
  • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills
  • High-quality communicator in English

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Social work experience and/or having an MSW preferred. LMSW or LCSW suggested.
  • Community organizing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong and trusting relationships with the scholars and their families.
  • Maintain effective and open communication with parents, staff, and administrators
  • Create, build, and maintain relationships with community partners.
  • Connect families with federal, state, and city social services and assist in applications as necessary.
  • Coordinate services with other clinicians, guidance counselors, and staff members as necessary.
  • Coordinate with internal and external mental health providers to refer students and families as necessary.
  • Serve on school-level committees as necessary and needed.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
