Summary of job description:
The Senior Analyst, Analytical Development, will provide significant practical contribution to method development and analytical characterisation projects. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for performing routine testing to support AD, Process Development (PD), Research and Quality Control (QC) projects and training other team members in these methods. The Senior Analyst will also provide support to the day-to-day operation of the Analytical Development (AD) laboratories.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute significantly to analytical method development and product analytical characterisation projects.
- Key performer of PCR, ELISA, chromatography and cell-based analytical tests to support PD, AD, Research and QC projects and cross-train other team members in these methods.
- Prepare laboratory chemical reagents and biological assay standards and controls for use in routine testing and development projects.
- Oversee and perform internal periodic maintenance, calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping tasks, including maintaining stock levels of laboratory consumables.
- Operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), company procedures and health and safety practices.
- Author, update and adhere to equipment and method SOP’s as required.
Other responsibilities
- Perform review of assay sheets, lab books and GMP documentation.
- Training team members in performance of routine analytical methods, equipment usage and maintenance.
Qualifications
Educational requirements:
- Biological Sciences university degree.
Experience and skill requirement:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- A self-motivated individual, with good time management and able to work in an organised manner.
- A demonstrated interest in biological science essential and experience of working in a GMP laboratory environment beneficial.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a small team, with effective communication and an ability to work flexibly to meet varying workloads.
- Experience in any of cell culture, ELISA, PCR, and chromatography.
- Good IT skills in core applications e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
